Put new steering arms on my old spindles and, for once, got lucky. They are nice-n-tight. Even took the tractor around and drove it a bit and they stayed tight, so maybe I dodged a $350 bullet on the spindles. I'm now working on rebuilding my IH 315 Cultimulcher. Got lucky there and found about $300 of new parts used for $30.00. And only about 3 miles away. Turns out I have a tractor/
farm implement wrecking yard almost within sight of my farm! A fair bit of red stuff there, but pretty picked over. The guy is old and really hasn't been very active buying for some years.

SO JIM, is this New Implement yard a secret, or are you going to tell US where it is at?

Marty- No secret. Road 20J, south of SR694 near Cloverdale Ohio. The guy really hasn't been in business for a long time. He's very old and the yard is very picked over. In fact, he's starting to have a bunch of stuff hauled off for scrap. Most of the stuff in the pile I saw belonged in the scrap. Yeah, there may be some gems in there, but nothing that really jumps out at me walking through. Not much red tractor stuff. Mosty, it's rusty old farm trucks and implements.

You've got a 315 too, Jim? We've got one we picked up at a consignment auction. A few of those steel rollers in front are broken and are very expensive new. Someone cobbled the piece on the rockshaft that the hyd. cylinder attaches to and I don't think it raises and lowers through as far of a range of motion as it should. I have only used it on about 75 acres, but I thought it did a very nice job of smoothing out the ground. Seemed to work best around 6-7 mph. One of these days I'm going to get around to doing some repairs on it.

Mine needed bearings on the rear gang and a few other parts, including some of the packer wheels. I was happy that all the parts are still available from C/IH but, like you, choked at the new price. That cultimulcher has turned out to be one of my most valuable tillage tools. Anyway, it's up and working now and I just about ready to harvest my soybeans and sow some winter wheat.
