Has anybody ever seen a brochure or parts breakdown for the SMTA factory Fast Hitch kit offered by the Company?

If the kit came out with the 400's, I would like to see how they engineered the stationary end of the rockshaft. I would also like to see the hydraulic's package. I assume they did more than plant a Christmas tree valve somewhere. In fact, the hitch uses two independent cylinders so I assume the tractor should have had three valves

I don't know this for a fact but the 450 hitch may have been partially engineered with SMTA retrofit capability in mind seeing that it is a bolt-on installation. This might mean the kit was not available until 1957. The hydraulics only used one cylinder but the draft control circuits would have added some complexity. Again, it would be interesting to see how they integrated the hydraulics.

Can anyone say they have actually seen a factory retrofit kit and not some later modification, using salvage parts, that was installed 20 to 50 years later? This is not a how-to request. I know how to do the work as I have 3 SMTA's converted with Fast Hitches: 2 with the early type and one with the later type.

How did you put the early style fast hitch on a SMTA. Just put a later style one on mine. Could not see anyway of putting a early style one on.

I fabricated a box that covers the frame cover and back of tractor. It would look something like 6" heavy angle iron over that area. Gussets went forward to tie into sides of rear frame. I will see if I can send some pictures.

The other one used a 400 frame cover. The only modification to the lid was drilling one hole for the steering column.

Hydraulic are a three spool valve bank mounted on the battery box on one and on a piece of 1/4" plate for the other. The plate has an end bent so that it fastens to frame cover bolts. Both valve banks are positioned vertically and the lever are horizontal.
