First I'd like to know if a (estimated 1953) Super M on LP that I'm looking at to buy that runs OK is worth $1,100. 2nd, It has hydraulics but no rock shaft. Is it possible to put a 3-pt hitch on it operated by cylinder? What would that cost me to add? Thanks for your help.

saginaw county tractor parts makes a real nice 3pt hitch conversion, i bought one last year for my m. they can be set up for one way or two way hydraulics, they bolt right over your existing drawbar. they cost was 675.00. they can truch ship them. they also make them for many other tractors. they are in new lothrop michigan.

I know there is an ad in the photo ads section now with a guy asking $1500 for just the head (and manifold) off a 450 LP.

have you ever rebuilt an engine on an H or an M? I am talking new pistions, sleeves, all new electrical, hoses, belts, rebuilt carburetor, refurbished distributor, new thermostat, etc...

I have, and from my experience, I'd say 1,100 is a steal.

A stage 2 SM with a battery under the seat, and live hydraulics (pump ahead of distributor) is worth more than that, if belly pump equipped, it is still a good buy but not as handy powering a threepoint. My opinion JimN

I think it is too high.

Give me the seller's number and I'll get it off the market so you won't be tempted to pay too much :-)

If the tires are decent on it and everything's there and functions ok, I'd say that price is very reasonable.

The M's never came with a factory 3-point hitch. There are aftermarket 3point hitches available. Do a search for the Saginaw 3pt hitches. Don't remember for sure but I think they run about $700 or so.
