does anyone know what the top port is for on the steering wheel post ? there are 2 lower ports side by side (pressure and return )i assume .i'm just assembling my tractor and can't remember. there is nothing in my books .

hey red how are ya ,
i have the two fittings for the hoses from the priority & regulator valve and the two steel lines to the drive piston at the bottom but ..... there is another elbow fitting at the top that is actually rubbing on the gas tank .i don't remember this elbow being there before i took the unit off and sent it away for overhaul two years ago. it sure wasn't rubbing before , i thought maybe it had a flat plug in it. a plug would give it a 1/2" clearance between it and the gas tank .thanks for any info you might have .

The top part( with the hoses) regulates the oil going to the actual drive piston (metal lines at the bottom). The top section has markings to tell you what line goes where. I bought a junk 300 U that had PS, but someone had the lines reversed, and it took an act of congress to turn the wheel
