I"m having a problem with a H-farmall. It starts good and runs real good for about 20-30 minutes. Then it seems like it is flooding and runs rough. If I stop so it isn"t working it clears up and then runs good for awhile again. It doesn"t do it all the time. Any ideas? I"ve cleaned the carb, sediment bulb to no avail

Sounds like your float level is right on the edge of letting the engine flood. When you stop moving the tractor, the float quits shaking and the fuel in the bowl gets a chance to level out at a (barely) acceptable level. This happened to me once, and that is when I learned to adjust the float a little different than factory spec. Problem solved forever (so far). mike

I personally dont think its the valves.I think its a fuel delivery problem.

I agree with the valve idea also, I had an A act like this - I found one of the plugs was fouling out when it was hot and put under load - changed the plugs and it runs good now

In addition to Rusty's Idea, (If the exhaust is smoking black when the missing happens, the following is not the problem). There needs to be enough fuel flow to provide the engine while working. If the needle and seat are clean, the strainer screen on the fuel inlet at the carb is unblocked, and the little screen in, and inlet tube, to the sediment bulb, and the vent in the new replacement free fuelcap from the program, are clean, there should be enough fuel. It should run out of the drain in the carb (if it has one) in a stream 1/8" in dia. for two minutes (into a pan). if it starts commimg out fast then slows it needs more cleaning.

Check the clearance on the valves. I'll bet they are too tight.
