Im helping a friend rebuild a 140 engine, sleaves, turn the crank, pistons, etc. All I have is a SA manual and I was wondering if I can usee those numbers in that to determine how much the crank is worn and how much to turn. Also, does anyone know the oil bearing clearence on 140 rod and main journals?

Thank You.

The crankshaft in the 140 should have the same dimensions as the Super A and that probably includes the A, B, C Super C, 100 and 130. That probably includes the 200 series tractors too.

Your local auto machine shop should have manual that covers all these engines and most of the farm tractors. I would have the bearing clearances on the rods and mains between .001" to .0015". Your shaft may not require it be ground, if it isn't scored. It may only need to be polished. If it is only worn a few thousands you can install undersize bearings. A good auto machine shop can tell you what's required after they measure your crankshaft. Hal
