I was replacing my battery cables and starter cable When i open the box to remove the battery
and starter wire the ground wire broke it was old can anybody tell me where it was wire in the box also looks like i need to rewire the hold thing the wire are cracking and sometime along the way someone use butt spices to make tthe connection

If I were doing it and had the bucks, I would buy a wiring harness from IH and put it on. If I wire them my self (some less money and more time) I remove the loom material, then replace every wire (one at a time) using wire one ga # bigger than was stock, and the same color. I would use shrink tubing, and solder on connectors appropriate for the terminal. Once all wires were replaced and running through the same locations, I would put new split loom from an auto store on them, taping the ends to keep it from working off. The battery cables need to be "0" gauge with soldered on terminals. The ground should go (even if not original) to one of the starter bolts after shining up the cast surface. Make a diagram to keep in the manual for reference and future realities. Go for it.
