Hi to all and happy memorial day. God bless those who served & serve today.

Changed oil in my 584 Thursday. Oil was milky. OH NO I SAY. Then I thought maybe it might be condensation from be in the lower barn where it is cool and damp for the winter. I did check the water and added some antifreeze but I don't know. I know the bad answer, hoping for an easy one. Thoughts ? It has been a year since the oil changed, sorry to my tractor. Thanks.

That happened to my B last spring after sitting
all winter. I drained the anti-freeze, changed oil and filter and added a can of head gasket sealer that you pour into the radiator. It worked and the oil was fine this spring.

That head gasket sealer worked for me too.

Mornin' John,

I think I'd just change the oil and watch it. Don't spin the wrenches if ya don't have to.

Guys,

Thanks for the reply. I will be cutting hay soon and this is my mowing machine so maybe after a good hard run with some heat in the motor, I will change the oil and filter and see how she is. Our weather up here in Mass has been real bad with all the damp and rain, but it is getting better. I hope this is the case, sure would make me smile. Thanks and have a great weekend.

John, I believe I would change the radiator to water only....if you have a leak the anti-freese will harm the bearings..... ....Don

Hey John,

Work does wonders for these old tractors; they just aren't happy unless they are under the whip.

All last summer I had a heck of an oil leak at one of the remotes on my 966 (tractor had been setting for 6 years prior). Since I've put in back out on the farm and made 'er work, the darned thing has dried clear up. Works and operates like a new one again.

Same way with my "hunting" 3 point. That problem just mysteriously went away after I hooked it to the plow this spring. :>)

I had some milky oil show up in my 44 M this spring for the first time. It had been on the road in a bad rain storm in March and had set in the shed over the winter. I took a chance that it was just condensation and changed the oil and filter and has been used twice since and is clean as the day I put it in. Don't get too discouaged yet. Migraine
