Thanks for all the replies on my original posting. I bought and installed an overrun clutch, but could find no protection on the brush hog except the bolt on the shaft yoke. Since the cutter gearbox/shaft connection is not splined, all the torque goes through the yoke bolt. I assume something like a #2 would give me all the protection I need at that point. (I just found some some old postings under shear bolt and it looks like that must be it.)

Yup, Yer right about that being a shear bolt. King Kutter sells em in a pack of five for my machine. LOL PUTTER
