Does anyone have any info on torque sequence for International D282? A used manual for rebuilding engine also any info on which engines may bolt up to the 282 flywheel & bell housing? Looks like it's a converted gas engine to diesel? Came out of 1959 Hough Wheel loader.

I assume you mean head bolt torque sequence. Here it is for a D282, with the front being to the left.

13 7 5 1 3 9 11

12 10 4 2 6 8 14

I would be very surprised if the IH engineers redesigned a gas engine into a diesel. It doesn"t have any specs close to a gasser that I know of. There were a ton of them made, too.

I was looking in my I&T manual and yes, it seems to be similar to the C263 engine in specs. And, as promised, I am surprised! Usually when that sort of thing is done, they end up with problems, but the D282 is a good motor.
Huh, I learned something today!

I think the 358D engine will fit and they were used in some Hough loaders. Hal
