I followed the advise from my post yesterday, took my vice off the bench, set it on the ground and blocked it up, and tried pressing the caps out. The first cap came as far as I can push it, but still is not all the way out. How do I get it all the way out so I can press the joint back and push the other cap out?
Thanks for reading, any help is appreciated.

when the caps get to where yours did, i clamp them in the vise and use a small pry bar on the yoke to lift the yoke the rest of the way off the cap.

Well if you still have a little room for the joint to slide in more take a small socket or washers and use that to push it out a little more.

Try some penetrating oil, and carefully grip the protruding cup with a slip joint pliers or ViseGrip. Hopefully, you can twist and pull it out.

Just be carefull not to bend the "ears" on the yoke when you are pressing on the cups, or it will be impossible to get the snap rings back in when you reassemble the joint and/or it will bind.
