There is an auction Monday the 27th in Wellington, KS. Anyone going? I'd like to know what the two Farmalls go for. One is an A - showroom perfect and completely original. The other is labeled a C, but looked like a Super C to me. It is also perfect and has a single front wheel. I'd go, but already have plane tickets to Idaho that day & can't get out of it.

I layover in Wellington on my Railroad job, and stay a block from Theurer"s. I just walked over and looked at those tractors, The A (FAA 144185) is like showroom with double rear weights, but was missing the battery box cover. But all the sheet metal is as good as it gets, looks almost new. Brand new tires, all four. The C has a little chrome here & there, single front, nice too. (138334) Call Larry Theurer 620-326-7315. He used to have an online service where you could watch the auction online & bid that way. Larry does all the auction & reality work in the area, and it"s not their first time. They sell a lot of tractors & farm equipment.

The C serial indicates that it is indeed a Super C, but the auction brochure calls it a 1949 C--makes me wonder if the seller even knows what he has.

HAS, if you like you can mail me a blank check and I'm sure I could go and bid for you. Just kidding, I would love to see them sell also. The price of fuel I don't make many long trips just to look at stuff any more.

They offered that i could leave an abssentee bid. What if I bid $2000 that way and then the bidding only went to 1200? I'd have paid too much. I'd sooner be there, or have a rep on the phone.

Never done business with Theurer(sp?). But, being in a small town and doing business with mostly locals, he would have to be honest or he would have been run off long ago. Call in your bid, he will be bidding against the last bidder. I did that once with a local auctioneer at Garden City. Told him to stop at $1000, tractor sold to the other bidder for $1050 -- he did what I told him to. If that A and C are truly restored (most are not) both will bring more than $2000, even in south central Kansas.
