Is the air cleaner on the 300 a replaceable element or do you buy the whole can and all. I don't see a joint or seam where it seperates and don't want to screw up the can since i assume it's a element inside that comes out. Thanks Rick

The stock air cleaner is an oil bath type unit. Take the bottom cup off by loosening the clamping band which holds the top & bottom sections together. Emty the oil into a container & check for dirt or other debris in the bottom of the cup. Use a table knife to dig out dirt which has accumulated in the cup. Refill with engine oil to the level designated on the side of the cup after cleaning.

Sorry for the delayed response my P/C wouldn't load the web page for some reason, any way i have done that and the filter is really gunked up so i was curious if it (the filter) is replacable or do you have to get a whole new can or is there a proper cleaning method/ product to use so as not to screw up the filter

The mesh material in the top part is not removable.
Taking the entire cleaner off, and rinsing it with solvent will clean it well. It does not need to be spotless, if the sludge in the pan is cleaned out, and new engine oil filled to line, you are good to go.
