Hi I got the 706 running but have a couple problems..... I pulled the plugs before trying to start it after a 11/2 years and antifreeze come out of 2 cylinders I then put plugs back in and it fired up I run it for a while and checked the oil it was overfull and milky, but the antifreeze wasn,t down any. Then to top it off I went to start it again and it would only stay running when I held the starter button in. Can anybody help !!!!! !!

You can jumper around a ballast resistor with another wire feeding voltage directly to your coil. Then if the tractor stays running you've found the problem. I would then get a new resistor before using the tractor. Hal

You could have a bad ballast resistor if your tractor is using 12 volts. The ignition switch could be the problem too. You need to check for voltage at your coil with a volt meter with the ignition switch in the on position. Then have someone attempt to start the tractor and then see if the voltage is present when you let off on the starter at the coil. Hal

Troy You would have a bad head gasket or crack as for the antifreeze, but the start and run only when you hold the stater button is a electrical problem. Bad resister bad wire on that circuit or loose connection.
