Hi, guys, it's me again. I would like to know what is the hose or tube that goes from the air cleaner to the head and what it is for.
Also I would like to know where is supposed to be the engine serial# and if it is supposed to be the same as the tractor serial#, wich is FBH 342606 X1 because I have it stamped on the engine too. There is a hole for a dipstick in the block but has a ford car dipstick in it that was cut and marked?? There isn't supposed to be a dipstick? right?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

H Farmalls had only the petcocks in the oil pan to check oil. I believe there are many replacement blocks from industrial engines and rebuilt from IH that had dipstick bosses, and some with holes. Others may add to this idea.
Rusty Farmall is exactly right on the ventilation tube in the VC.
