I just found these listed on eBay. Looks like someone is stealing and selling Bob Ms wiring diagrams.

Just want to add my thanks to Bob for his diagrams as well -- I've used them both to rewire a couple of Farmalls and to learn about ignition eletrics in general.

Glad also to see that there is enough of an online community of us to help police this sort of thing.

- David

Brian, I was curious enough that I E.mailed the seller to ask him if there was a reason he would sell something that was a remarkable likeness to someone elses work who was more than happy to share it with us for free. I figured that anyone interested would see that they didnt have to pay for something that was plagerized. As with nearly all the other replies, I find this most despicable. He gets my vote for "Moron of the month".

He is more than a Moron, he is a thief!!

I sent JD an email to their licensing department. We will see if it does any good...

Brian: Like the others, I think this act is despicable. What kinds of other material are advertised on his web site. I really don't bother to follow Ebay, maybe I should, but time seems to be a factor. I already spend too much time at this computer.

I have numerous fabrications of attachments I've built for offset Farmalls. I've never posted these at YT, have been quite free at e mailing these to just about anyone who wanted them. Most folks come back with a good Thankyou. Some don't however, probably some low down creature is off selling my designs by now.

It is a benefit that Bob published his drawings at YT. This allowed you and others to be right on top of this bird. Good work guys.

I for one have benifited a lot from Bob's knowledge and generosity. If anyone should be making money from this it should be Bob. As for e-bay I bought a metal detector off e-bay last spring. Seller said it was new in the box with extra coil and carry case. It was old, broke and rusted up with parts missing. Seller wouldn't return e-mails and e-bay has done nothing. Don't think I'll risk any more of my hard earned money that way anymore. Been very happy with items bought from people on this site.

Brian - Thanks for spotting and bringing this to my attention!

These diagrams were created and are are being shared for the benefit of like-minded IHC enthusiasts -NOT for someone else to turn a profit by ripping me off! (I'm sure Farmer Bob below will agree...)

Both the seller and Ebay have been notified of the abuse. We'll see how they respond.

Bob, don't know what will come of this, but i do want to thank you for providing the diagrams. I have used them on several occasions and also pointed a number of other people to them.

I asked the question of the seller last evening if he could tell me the origin of the schematics and diagrams. This is the response he posted back: "I don't exactly remember, we've had them on file for a long time. Seems like it was an aftermarket source and not a copy from a service manual or such. There's no identifable source on it."

How convenient!

Let me set the record straight! I am not the Farmer Bob that bought the item! That is NOT my Ebay ID and I enjoy a 100% feedback on only 34 transactions. Just wanted to set the record straight. I feel like most of you do as I even provided Bob Melville a copy of a diagram for the Farmall A wiring diagram for him to include in his list. You will see his recognition of this on that diagram.

If someone is, indeed, stealing Bob M"s diagrams and selling them. . .THEN THIS REALLY MAKES ME MAD. Again, IF it"s true, then maybe a lot of red-tractor lovers should fill in the "comments" section of the guy"s listing and let him know what most of us think about what he"s doing. I"m a big believer in grassroots response--in a multitude of honest, decent people letting those who are NOT honest and decent know that their actions are simply NOT acceptable. Peer pressure can be a good thing. Here"s another idea--again, assuming this stealing/selling is really happening--that Bob M give a copyright attorney a jingle and have HIM contact the offender. Sometimes that"s what it takes to get some people"s attention. Slappy said it well--it"s a shame that Bob M"s generosity, which I assume is offered free to those who need help restoring their tractors--is being abused so someone can make a buck.

Hello David, I have been involved with ebay for 3 or 4 years now with good luck so far, and am stumped by where you can put comments on the seller's listing. Can you enlighten me? I just must be over looking the obvious again. Thanks, Harley

I just checked it out. The auction ended early with the buy it now. The guy that is selling them doesn't even try to hide who he is, even has a link to his website where I am sure you can buy even more stuff that has been ripped-off.

Rusty, I also checked it out, and the seller did indeed pull that one auction early, however he has it listed multiple times so he is still trying to sell the diagrams. I E-Mailed him and asked hem if there was a reason that he would attempt to sell at a profit something that the original author is willing to share with IH enthusiasts for free. I hope if it doesnt shake him, it will at least alert buyers that they are being conned as well as Bob M getting ripped off. It is a shame but a fact that there are more horse"s rear ends than there are horses in the world.

Looks like he pulled the auction off e-Bay. Someone (probably many someones) likely sent him a nasty letter. Goodness only knows how many of us have benefited from Bob"s wiring advice in the past, and it"s disturbing to see his generosity abused in this way. It would appear that there are no depths to which some people are willing to sink for a few dollars. Shame on them.
