You guys respond faster than the fellers over at the John Deere forum so ill ask you guys this. What is the value of a 1955 John Deere 60 standard Gas 100% restored. It has new 18.4 34s, and everything has been gone through thoroughly and there are no problems.

I don't know either. But it is probably worth more on the JD forum than it is here.

If this is a high seat standard in the condition you say $3000 Canadian $ was a very good deal for the buyer. If it was a low seat standard it was a good deal for the seller. High seat standard was the first effort JD made to make a standard tractor out of a row crop, different wheels, axles, etc. Two weeks ago I saw a 620 standard that needed some TLC sell for $4700. I started farming with a 720 standard gas and still have it in the shed, not very many of them made.

Grandads 60 was a low seat model, funny thing was that the relation who bought it at the auction offered granddad $4000 Canadian a year before he past away, go figure. The value of a tractor or piece of equipment all depends on how badly some wants it

I'm not up on what two-cylinders are worth, but that one could be worth some serious money. Tractors like this are easy to pin a value on. Ask the guy to show you the invoices for all of the professonal labor, parts, tires, ect. he's got into it, add the value of a junk 60 to that number, and you'll have a fair idea of what it's worth.

After my granddad past away they had a auction this past summer, he had a wheatland model 60, can't rember the year but it went for $3000 Canadian. The paint dad and i did about 15 years ago it was starting to fade now, it ran realy well, tires were average and had no power steering. Now the tractor is in the states, a relation bought it and he ships tractors too the US usally doubling his money in US funds, sells too colectors. We use to run it infront of the binder for thrashing for fun, if time and weather permitted, I miss the sound of that tractor and most of all granddad. Now if i could only get my Farmall H too run all 4 cyl and not 2 cyl that would be good.

Ian,

Check your point gap on the H. I've seen worn mags that would only open the points on one lobe of the cam, hence they run on two cylinders. If that's the case, just give 'em a little more gap.

Check that distributor cap for any burnt contacts
and pull one plug wire off at a time and see which one's aren't firing. Plug wires may need replacing with good copper wire. Hal

You can ask and we may respond quicky but I haven't got a clue what any thing with green paint is worth. Maybe someone here knows green as well as red.

Well as far as I'm conserned it's worth about $100.00 a ton on its way to being a hubcap or manhole cover. Around here it would be a 3-4 thousand dollar tractor.
