A rebuilt unit is about $180. A friend of mine just took his infor the same issue your has and the guy charged him $200 for a rebuild. Find a decent machine shop or just find a good used distributor for about $70.

baler46: I took my Super A distributor to CaseIH dealer, and they knew machine shop they farmed this work out to. It came back at a reasonable price. That was 15 years ago, and SA has worked great since. At the time my tractor had reached the point it would stop when it hit a bump, or a jolt when plowing, etc. The other item that was happening with my distributor, rotor was actually hitting terminals in cap, and I wasn't getting much life out of either rotor or cap. The rebuild cured that as well, if my memory is right the same rotor and cap are still on tractor after 15 years. Just a bit hazy on that but can't remember buying those items since for SA.

A good machine shop will install an oilite bronze bushin easily. If the shaft is worn more than .003", the repair will be only partially successful. A work around is to install a longer bushing than stock so that the bushing can extend (on one side or the other) to bear against unworn shaft. Ive done it it works. be sure to lube it as indicated in the manual, and with lubriplate engine assembly grease when putting it together.
That is my best info because rebuilds aren't cheap.
