I just bought a set of manuals that are sold as being a complete set for my 826D. They are IHC reprints, reasonably priced but the part that makes we wonder is that not one of them is listed as being for an 826, either on the cover or inside. I know the 826 is very similar to other models of the same era but I'm wondering if I'm going to be missing something. The models listed on the various mauals are 706, 806, 856, 1206. The D-358 manual, of course, applies.

It depends on what manuals you're talking about, and whether or not they list ALL those tractor models, or just one (i.e. you have a pile of manuals, the hydraulic manual for a 706, the operator's manual for an 806, the maintenance manual for an 856, and the service manual for a 1206). The manuals that list multiple tractor models are generic, and have enough information in them to cover the 826.

Where you're going to run into differences is in the manuals specifically written for 06 series tractors. There were some minor internal changes between the 06 and 26/56 series tractors that may stump you when push comes to shove.

The 826 is pretty much the same as an 856 mechanically; it just has a different engine.
