Cub Paint?

I'm in the process of re-doing my cub (I had to repair a noisey transmission bearing, but now that it's all apart, I'm taking the time to paint her)...anyway, my serial number is 141874 which, I think, makes her a 1951 (for years I thought it was a 1950)....I'm curious about my wheels, my fronts were painted silver for the wheel & red for the insert & the rears were all red including the weights...is this correct? I would have thought the rear wheels should be silver wheel/red insert like the front? Also, I put a new grill on her, the old one was red, I have seen others that are white...which is "right"...lastly, I'm replacing all my plug wires/cap etc...if I remeber right, these were all painted red when I got it (do I just spray it all red?).....one more thing, can I use the same International Red Implement Paint on the motor as I do on the tractor parts??or do I need to buy high temp paint? thanks from Maine

When these tractors were new, EVERYTHING was red. They put them mostly together and sprayed red paint on them.

Front wheels should be solid red.

Rear wheel centers should be red, including weights. Rear rims should be bare galvanized steel, but it's typical to paint them light grey or silver because the galvanization has long since rusted away.

I would protect critical ignition parts, like plugs, wires, cap, coil, from paint.

Three guesses what color the grill should be... Yup, RED.

That said, you can paint any of it any color you want. It's your tractor. If it looks good to you, who cares?
