Any tips for rejuveination a flat belt? The covering has begun to seperate from the center portion of the belt and the whole thing is dried and wrinkled. I might need it to start something with some day, so I thought I would attempt to improve it's condition. Thanks for any replys, Dick Davis

I doubt there is much you can do at this point.

Nebraska Cowman is correct. A belt that is comming apart, or wrinkeled is dangerous. Flat belts running off the pulleys at speed can "motivate" oldsters to run fast the other way. But a belt breaking can go anywhere, and whack people and parts with furry. Finding a good belt will be the best option. Be safe Jim Nicholson

My local farm store had "Flat Belt" material for the big round balers. I think this would be a good source of a reliable flat belt. Has anyone used the flat belt from a big round baler as a straight flat belt?

The bailer belt works. Don't use the old one like Janicholson said. I was standing next to one that broke, it flew past me and almost went threw the barn wall. We still run our hammermill with one regularly.

I was standing next to one when it broke while running a mill chewing up alfalfa for a horse with bad teeth (needed to be floated) - it ended up in the road a good 30 yards from the barn.
