I was put in touch with a very knowledgable magneto gentleman a few days ago and he agreed to make a house call to try to get the F-12 running. About an hour of uh-huh and ok I sees now, he says lets give her a tug and in 10 feet she popped and runs like a watch. Everything works and seems tight. I gave her a good scrub down bath and took her for a drive. That is too much fun and makes me think of all the people who sat on these for hours in the 30's in the hot sun on that hard seat but listening to that sweet little Waukesha purring along. Probably was a whole lot better than the horses though so they stayed out there. Anyways thanks to all those guys who gave me advice as to what to try. It worked and I sincerely appreciate all the comments about this tractor. It was a little before my time but being the Farmall nut I am, I know how to show it with pride along side the others. We will take to to our big annual tractor and steam show which starts on Wed. and goes through Sat. Hope to post some pictures next week. Migraine

Hi Migraine, yeah that is fun , ain"t it. I wonder if the Waukesha sounded significantly different than the IH powered F-12. I sure wish I could find a job for my F-12 to do. It is the only old tractor that I have that I really don"t have a reason to drive. I"ve been thinking of figuring out a way to hook up my 3 point finishing mower to it. I"m glad you got it running!

My exhaust is strictly a straight pipe with a slight bend in it to go around the sheet metal and is about broken off at the exhaust manifold flange so I have it off right now to get welded up tomorrow. Even with no pipe on it I'm amazed how quiet the engine really is. Also did this tractor come with the pto shield as an option or was it an option along with the fenders? Mine has neither right now. That spark retard and advance really makes that engine run out smooth at different rpm's. Migraine
