The good feeling you get from making an old derilict run can't compare with Helping someone else get the tractor of their youth running again. Didn't have my camera so you will have to look at yesterdays picture and take my word for it but Gary was one happy man after we worked most of the afternoon to get the old crawler running and driving on it's own power.

Cowman, That is a beautiful looking old TD-9, Looks very unmolested, my dad had one like that when I was a kid. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Always had a liking for these since I was a kid and my dad had a contractor over clearing land.

Been the last few years keeping an eye out looking for one that may want to follow me home.

Shortly after I started working at Case IH in Fergus Falls one of my projects was a TD-9 and that was a good feeling to fire it up and drive it around making all kinds of racket with that old relleck. The bad news was the bill the guy had to pay for the engine overhaul, getting the drive clutch unstuck, and rebuilding one of the steering clutches. I could have gone further for as much help that thing still needed. As neat as it is to work on these antique'rs it just ain't worth bringing them in at the going shop rate cause thats were the expence comes from. My feeling is either fix it yourself or take to the a tech school for these kids to get hand on learning and maybe an appreciation for restoring old machines.
