Northern Tool & Equipment has table lifts that will withstand 1000 pounds. Their toll free number is 1-800-533-5545. Hal

Have you looked into ATV lifts or motorcycle lifts? They should work for a lawn tractor.

Woods equipment sells mowers for antique tractors some of which do not have hydraulic lifts. They sell hand lifts for the mowers for those tractors. Don't know if you can buy the lifts seperately or not or if they make something small enough for your use but it's worth a try. You should be able to find them on the internet, Dave.

Pep Boys (or similar) sell an engine lift with a 4000lb capacity for about $140. Just lift the entire tractor off the ground and put it on some type of stationary platform (like four of those portable car ramps). Just a thought. I won't take responsibility for crushing high school students. ;-)
