Don't know about the conversion for that tractor but that loader will have to be perfect to get that kind of money. It should sell for about $1,200 -$1,300 in good shape and needing paint like you said. It is a good loader though.

We have a 2000 on a 656, and its a great loader. We use it hard, and havent broken it yet. As far as price, I would say thats in line.Maybe try and get him down $100-$200. New loaders are pretty darn expensive.

Hi Ponchobro,
Wondering if I could get feedback on your 2000 loader that you use hard? We just got one and would be interested in what your opinion/use has been.

Know this is an old post so I hope you are still around.

Poncho: To mount 2000 loader from a 656 on a 544, you must take 6" out of square tubing back near rear axle mount. That is the exact difference in wheelbase. The front mounts will then bolt right up.

When I bought my 2000 loader it came with a farm having both 656 and 504 tractors. They had loader on 504 last and had even saved the 6" sections. I welded them back in and installed loader on my 560.

Sorry I'm not up on values.

656 UTILITY to a 544 FARMALL. I have the manual and the mountings aren't even close to the same from what I can see.

They made mounts for the 544, but you're probably on your own as far as reworking the 656 Utility mounts for the 544 Farmall, or building a new set of mounts...

Nat: I did miss the part about 656 being a Utility, and I was telling as though loader came from a Farmall and going to a Farmall. However that changes little as the distance from rear axle to grill is very little difference between Farmall and Utility 656. The 4 cylinder Farmalls and Utilities are very close also. I once removed a Wagner loader from a 300 Utility, It clamped to Farmall 300 rear axle housing and grill gard came within 2" of grill, as it did on the utility. I took less than 1 hour to modify front mounts for loader. Utilities may look short, but castings are the same length.

Nat He said ROW-CROP, Their is a difference! Row-crop looks like a utility BUT has adjustable axels front and rear. I would think the loader will fit!
