Hey everybody, I bought that 504d I asked about a week back. It's a real good tractor, but it has the single front wheel and I want to go wide. Will a wide front off a 606 or 2606 fit this tractor? If not which ones will? I do have power steering if that makes a difference. Thanks,James

JR: If the 504 has a single front wheel then it has to be a Farmall, whereas the 606 and 2606 were only ever built as Utilities thus the front ends are completely different. The Farmall 504 wide front was completely different from most other Farmalls as well. I think only the Farmall 340 has the same wide front. You may be able to buy a new aftermarket wide front to fit.

Hugh are you sure about that, I once worked at an IH Dealership and they had a Farmall 606D on the lot.

IH never made a "Farmall" 606, gas or diesel.

Could it be that the tractor you saw was a 656?

Could it be that you're mistakenly placing the "Farmall" moniker on an INTERNATIONAL 606D? All Farmalls are Internationals, but not all Internationals are Farmalls.

That has been too many years to know if it said Farmall or International on the side so let us put it this way it was a ROW Crop tractor

If it was a row crop tractor it must have been a 656 or 666. As Hugh stated, there were no row crop 606's. Only International 606's and 2606's. 656 and 666 were built in both International and Farmall models.

Harold: What about the possibility of a high utility? It would have Farmall wheels on rear. Any information I have tells me there was no Farmall 606. In fact where I lived Utilities were so scarce, I didn't even realize 606 existed until they were 10 years old. Somehow I even missed it in the buyers guide. There were a few 300 Utilities, but the steering on them sickened most people.
