I have a IH 240 Utility Tractor, it has a Loader on it, and the Control Valves for the Loader are built into the tractor, just Right of the steering and front dash... Does any one know what MODEL this Tractor is, I'v seen other IH 240's with out the Control Valves for loaders and was wondering what mine was as to a Model Number... thanks for your time...

I have a 240U and it should have had the Du-Al loader operated from the hydra-touch levers to the right of the steering wheel. But - some one went to the work of putting on a "Rube Goldberg" (spelling) mess and another for the three-point. Took pictures to download later. I have seen postings about IH loaders here and have seen literature on ebay, maybe search and find something to help id what you have. Is your loader one or two way cylinders? Let us know.

Joe, on the left of the screen, under Galleries, I clicked on Tractor Photos, and clicked on "search" then typed in: 240 with loader. Clicked on image and came up with:>Link

You>Link could contact Rick and see what model loader he has, how his is connected. Looks to be a clean 240U. My two however, aren"t so clean.

I have never seen a 240 in person, but the levers you mention are options, and do not change the model number. There may or may not be a letter(s) after the chassis serial number that may indicate the pump size etc, but those were mainly on the larger tractors. Also those factory valves are for any remote cylinder on any implement that can be used with the 240, not just loaders.

Thank you for your information, I was wondering about that, sure does help, I'v seen other IH240's and they sure don't have the controls vales mounted on the tractor itself, so it made me wonder, but you have helped my confusion, I bought the tractor at a tractor auction and it came with only one rear wheel weight, so now I'm looking hard and wide for another, but havent come up with one, if you have one, I sure would take it off your hands, thanks for your help...

I have a 340 Utility and it has two levers in the place you mentioned - it was an option - one lever for each external hydraulic connection. Another option gave three levers. I believe it was for either a rear hydraulics connection, or for the Fast Hitch, although my Fast Hitch has a lever next to the driver's seat.

I found JPTractor.com has a good supply of used 340 parts, probably 240 as well. I purchased a replacement front axle and had it shipped from Mo to NJ.

Hi Paul, I brought up www.JPTractor.com and the URL could not be retrieved, do you have that listing right, or can you tell me what I must do to get it, maybe you can send me their phone number, thanks, Joe

Thanks Paul, I appreciate your information, I find it kind of hard to find used IH parts around Minnesota, I'v been looking for a rear wheel weight, but no luck, I bought the tractor on a auction with one weight on and one missing.. thanks again Paul

A good place to get manuals (operators, maintenance and parts) is binderbooks. A little pricey but I believe well worth the money. I've found that as a last resort that the case website is a big help when looking for parts. they helped me find parts for mine and where they were located. Hope this helps.
