I have a 1951 Cub, runs great, but, while York Raking, my shifter came out of the transmission (1st time ever). I took it apart & looked at it, it's got a little ball on the end that rides inside a slotted plate. This litte ball fits through the slots, on the other side of this plate is a concaved metal plate, is this what is supposed to hold the shifter from popping out?? This plate is just floating loose inside the shifter boot...I'm assuming it affixes to the top concaved piece? Any ideas? Thanks from Maine.
