Hmmm,

When I asked the wife if she had any red fingernail polish, she looked at me really weird and accused me of falling off my trolley.

Darrnit! The red flim is missing from the little round road lite window and don't know how else to fix it, being a cheap skate and all. :>(

Allan, here's a place to buy an 1156 bulb with red glass. I've dealt with them before. They're okay. It'll make the old gal feel good as new and you won't get caught halfway between the house and barn carrying a bottle of nail polish in your shirt pocket. Jim.

Allan, In my day we did the dome lites inside the car, I also did the dash lites. But what I found was fingernail polish would turn black from the heat, It was OK for the dome lite if you didn't leave the door open to long. I then went to hi-temp engine paint and it worked like a champ, and it works best it you dip the bulb. a thin coat where you can still see inside the bulb is best.

Allan, your wife's imagine must be very limited, apparently only us guys know of the many uses for fingernail polish. Sounds like a good way to fix it to me.

Hi Rusty,

The flim that comes on 'em is kinda a purplish/redish stuff. Very thin coat masking a 1156 bulb.

I remembered when I was a kid tryin' to look "Kewl", I'd take fingernail polish and dope the park lite bulbs on my old car. Seemed to work back then.

Dunno what else to do with the silly thing.

Allan

Allen, when I was young the thing to do was to coat all the inside bulbs in the car red so when the door opened it looked real s___y pink and other things ha ha. Remember when?

Maybe I shouldn't admit to this, but I actually tinted the bulbs in the park lights of my 60 Chevy with some kind of blue stuff, and then wired them so they would be on with the headlights. I thought it looked REAL KEWL, and so did my friends. Highway patrol took a little different view, cost me 20 bucks at the JPs.
