436 IH CAM. LOBES GOING FLAT

Is it true that the last ser.# blocks on the 436, had 1 1/8 inch lifters & thay are offset to one side of the cam. lobes so the lifter will turn. The older 1 inch lifters are centered over the lobes? No wonder the the older cams. went flat, If this is true.

the bigger lift bore was for roller lifters.

larger dia. lifters allow using a more radical cam without having to go to roller lifters.

I am not sure about that but 1 thing I do know is that we use to change the rocker arm stands to a newer style that had a groove cut in the bottom to direct oil over the cam.
