My buddy next door asked me to help him find out the year and or model of his tractor. The number he found was 160341u. It is a Farmall tractor. I looked throught the serial numbers on this site but didnt find it. Thanks in advance for your help.

No sarcasm, but the Farmall name was used from 1924 until into the 70's, I believe -- so we need a better description. The serial number indicates that it is likely an A, B, H, or M, so look for those in the tractor photo section, to your left under galleries, if it's not there you need to give a better description.

It loooks a lot like the 1936 F12 pics on the site. What in particualr should I look for? Thanks again.

I know nothing about the F series, except that I recognize them. The serial on the F12/14 supposedly stops at 155902. F12 has a horizontal steering shaft, F14 is angled. Serial number prefix for both is FS, if you can still read it.

Some of the 1937 F-12's had the angled steering shaft. I have a buddy with one. I was told some late orders for F-12s had the angled shaft as opposed to the horizontal. If the tag is missing and it's an F-12 or an F-14 the serial number will be next to the fuel pump stamped into the cast. It will define one from the other.
I absolutly love this discussion forum and the rich diversity of expertise. While I don't do a bunch of posting I sure do a bunch of reading and I learn things every day.
Best to all of my mentors!
