so here is my question. my family has a 1946 IH k6 two ton flat bed truck. the truck was originally used by the ih dealer in town and had many miles put on in delivering tractors and pulling trailers. it even hauled TD9's. wow. it was then bought by a local woodcutter who used it to haul his eight foot long firewood rounds crosswise on the bed. then my family bought it in the 70's i believe. we removed the two speed IH Eaton rearend with huge "hillclimber" edition brakes and placed a two speed timken rearend. it has the original 250 ohv straight six, 4 spd with granny, two spd axle, 14 foot flatbed with hoist. still 6v. estimated mileage about 300,000 miles. heaviest recorded load was 10 tons (yup, 20,000 lbs) up and down about a 7% grade. still runs great. we still farm hazelnuts, or filberts, with older machinery, ferguson to30 and 20, masseyharris 101, deere 2010, case L and D, IH super A, TD9, TD6. we attend 1 tractor show. this is our last truck, all the others have been sold, and one was hit by a drunk driver who ran a red light. we have two spare 308's, and two Fuller F51 trans 5 speed with granny and 5th direct. i would like to rebuild a 308 and through it and a 5 speed in the truck and it would last me for years with the few miles i would put on it. i also have a 3 speed brownie i might through in there too. my question is, can you get parts for K-6's, IH 250 and 308 engines, and Fuller F51 trans anymore? i live in oregon, and i cant go far for parts, this will not be a restoration, just a keeping in excellent health mission. please email me directly if you have any advise or know of parts near me. keep enjoying IH, my family has since 1944 and wont stop soon.

I think there was some talk on here about K or KB series trucks. You might search the archives. What information I have is to old to help. I sold my KB 5 grain truck a couple of years ago. At the time I needed parts for the engine they were nearly impossible to find. But at that time engine parts for the K 6 and up sizes were available, at least they were in the parts books. There were lots of those old trucks around with special bodies on them, Drilling rigs, wire line units, As I don't get around those things anymore I can't say if they are out there. The last one I saw was in Galesburg Kn. It had Gasoline tanker on it. They were great looking trucks I sure thought so when they were new.
