Randy there are to bands in there one for drive and one for brake they are the same part number. The idea was after the drive band had been used to where it didnot hold like it should you switch the drive with the brake. But after this long who knows how many the tractor has had or the condision of them. But I agree with Van replace the bands.

I have a similar problem with the PTO on my 300, I have figured out that it is not the adjustment but seems to be the detent positions on the lever.

If I hold the lever down slightly the PTO does stop, how to fix it I haven't quite figured that part out yet.

Please post if you find the solution.

Thanks

When I was a kid Dad bought one new - PTO ALWAYS turned . . . unless, as B Watson posted, you held down the lever. I remember resting my foot on it . . . for no good reason I suppose, but it stopped the shaft from rotating.
