I have a 1955 Farmall Cub. When I start it up it does not always stay running, shuts down after about 15 seconds. When it does stay running I have a real loss of power, like putting in the clutch kills the engine. Once it warms up a little more I can put it in first gear and move, but even going up a small incline stalls it out. Once it has run for about 1/2 hour or so it seems to kick in to full power, but not always. Any ideas would be appreciated.

The first thing to come to mind is lack of fuel. The screen in the line where it attaches to the carb could be plugged, there could be trash in the tank covering the fuel outlet. The fuel line could be plugged anywhere along the length of it. Does it have an inline fuel filter? Anyway, start with taking the fuel line loose at the carb and check flow, work your way back from there.
Let us know what you find. If that's not it I'm sure somebody can tell you about carb settings, timing, etc.
Good luck, Wm
