Hello everybody

I have what appears to be a simple year-round cab off a hydro 100. I was wondering if anyone knew if it would fit a 856 or what else without measuring. I know with a torch and welder anything will fit but mainly looking for a bolt on option. I am looking at a 856 and would like to know if i have to option of bolting this cab on it or what else it will fit?

Thanks

You'll need spacers for the brackets at the bell housing. The casting on the Hydro 100 (66 series) is about 2" wider at that point. Other than that, it'll bolt right on because the dimensions at the rear axle are the same.

Mornin',

Boy, I dunno. Except for the engines and sheet metal, they look like They're the same tractor to me.

Just like a 766, except for the clutch and engine, is in every other way exactly identical to a 1066. Both are the larger chassis tractors.

i think the 66 series (which the hydro100 is one) has a wider frame than the 56 series. the difference that matters will be on the width of the clutch housing, as the back end of the cab will clamp to the axles regardless of the width. i had a 56 series cab on a 966, but it clamped only to the axle, so the clutch housing width wasn't an issue. there will be a small space above the hood if you can get the cab on the 856, as the 66 series has a little higher hood height. hth.

Powermaster,

Those old Year Around Cabs are pretty adaptive.

That cab will pretty much bolt right on a 856, even down to using the same brackets. The only difference I can think of will be the webbing across the cowl. But, I recall this was made of a rubber belting anyway, so you should be okay in that department too if you can find another strip.
