Looked at a 1953 300 utilty today. Alll rubber pretty bad, one front tire coming apart. Rears mismatched. Starts easily, has fast hithh with 3 pt adapter and lift works (slowly). Live PTO ,tin in fair to poor shape. Come with Servis brad 6 ft blade in poor shape. Hitch welds broken on fast hitch.

What"s it worth? He wants $2000. After loking at it a second time, I told him that I didn"t think I could offer over $1200.

James, I use IH utilities on my tree farm, have a 330 350 and a 460. When I look at non power steering IH utilities the first thing to look at is the steering box, Is it good or bad. Bad I would not buy. Notice how many wanted adds are for these boxes. If the steering is ok on this tractor. maybe an hydraulic filter, set of tires and tlc would make a good tractor for you. I'll almost bet most orignal 2pt's on the 300's have been welded on. My 2cents worth.

I agree with Rusty. If you want to use the tractor, walk away. If you want one to spend lots of money on as a hobby, then work out a deal with him.

The 300 series wasn't introduced until 1955, so someone doesn't what he is talking about, and if the tractor is in that poor of condition it is ready for the salvage yard. Turn around and walk away, don't look back.
