With help from alot of nice guys I found the serial #on the tractor I just purchased. The# is FABN 163937 on the engine and the same on the tag under the seat. There was question from one fellow on wether it was a BN or not, stickers sure look original, I hope the serial # will clear this up. I did not have much luck trying to look up the #, can anyone help. Thanks Joe

With all the help I got,I have now confirmed I indeed have an original BN. Now I can start my restoration after I order the correct manuals. To the right person what would a trator like this be worth although its not for sale. Thanks from Joe in Oberlin Ohio.

Look at the right-hand seat mounting. If it's bolted almost against the right side rear fender, it's a BN. If there is about 4 inches between the fender and the seat mounting, it's a B.

Here is a link to a photo of where to look. The photo shows a B.

The best source for manuals, bar none, is Binder Books -- go to their website.

The numbers are to your left under "Research and Info". The FABN prefix indicates it is indeed a BN. As for serial numbers, the serial numbers for the A, AV, B, and BN differed only in the prefix. The numbers were intermingled with the models. In other words 20000 could have been an A, 20001 could have been a BN, there is not a separate SN series for each model. Your tractor was assembled in 1946.
