I know this is a little off the tractor subject. But, I was wandering what you guys have been charging and/or paying for custom baling for small square poly twine tied bales this past year? Not including the wagon labor, just the baling.

I'm in Oklahoma and charge $1.10/bale to swath and bale with wire. Thinking about going to $1.25.

Wire runs about $0.10 per bale.

Mow only, $0.50, bale only $0.60.

I charge $1 a bale dropped on the ground or you can work the racks.
Thats for cut, Raked and baled.
If shares its 50%.
I use sasle twine but would use what ever the customer wants if its an issue.

Thats my Farmall 400. Might be just about the best small baler tractor out there.
Live power and the TA. TA I have found to be great when you get into a heavy section of windrow. I usually bale in 2nd gear 3/4 throttle.
(depends on the baler)
When you hit a thicker section I dont even have to clutch, just pull the TA back and cuts the speed by 3rd and chugs through the thick spot. Then just push the TA forward and back at it.
