I recently found 3 Farmalls setting in the weeds on a nearby farm
There was an A,B and a BN.
The B has a wide-front.I never saw a B with a wide-front before and from what I read & from all the pictures I've seen thay were all manufactured with narrow-fronts. Can anyone tell me if there were some Bs built with wide-fronts?
I can see no evidence that a wide-front has been made to fit under this tractor.
The s/n on this tractor is FAB31959 which according to my book makes it a 1940 model.
Also where do you find the serial plate on a BN?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

The BN serial number plate is attached to the seat support closest to the transmission; it's on the back half by the belt pulley. The engine one should be on the block just below #1 (front)spark plug.

If the wide front end is offset like the ones on an A then it has been changed. If it is the same length on both sides then it is the wide front end option offered on the "C" which will bolt right up on the "B". Don't know if you could special order them that way or if they had to be changed in the field.

Which ever front end that it has on it that "B" will always be a conversation piece.

I don"t see how a C front would work on a BN- two different gear boxes. stearing shafts are on the opposite sides.
