Hello all. Awhile back I aquired a stuck W-9. Its been soaking for awhile. Its now loose but while slowly rolling it over I noticed a valve stuck "open". I've been soaking it for a few weeks with penetrating oil hoping to see it popped up one day but no luck yet. Any suggestions? I hate to take the head off unless necessary. Thanks for the help. Joel

I would not be afraid to start it, either.

The vibration of running, rattling of the tappet, and heat of running might just loosen it up.

Wouldn't run it all day, of course.

Hi....I have lossened stuck valves by removing the head, squirting PB Blaser and 3 in one oil on both sides and take a short 2 x 2 laying it on the spring side or valve side and gently tapping with great sucess for John Deere and Farmalls.

What we do for a stuck valve in an airplane... Find a long length of nylon rope and fish it into the cylinder until it is full. Keep enough rope hanging out so you can pull it out later. Roll the piston up againts the valve and let it push the old girl up. I have had a lot of luck soaking and tapping the valve stem end against the spring too.
