Scotty,

You were mentioning terrain; the wife wanted to go out to check some cows, so I took the camera along to show our 'front yard'.

Who but a retarded old farmer would wanna live like this, I ask ya? :>)

Hey Allen - what part of Nebraska you live in? We used to be up near Polk (north of York), but moved back home to just west of Tecumseh (east of Beatrice) a couple of years ago.

Hi Galen,

At sunset, I can spit at the sun and just about hit Wyoming. :>)

We live out here in the "other" Nebraska. South of Chadron out in the Pine Ridge.

Allan

Mornin Allan, Thanks for the additional pictures, I just love seein where other red tractors live!!!
Up my neck of the woods, you aint nobody unless you got a big yellow school bus on your property, wife dont share my humor though, she says the only way I get a big yellow school bus is to put it out in the back woods, not the hay field!!! Some irishmen just dont have any humor!

Allan, Dangit, Now you have gone and made me wish I was back in the TX/OK Panhandles. Even though we had "Valley" 8 tower, 1/4 milers, your "Renke" looks good! What is it nozzeled at? What kind of irrigation well, and engine are you running. Ours were MM HD800s,or 3306 Cats on 10 in wells, pulling from about 300 ft. Most averaged about 850 to 1000 gal/min.
Your center piviot ground , with winter wheat on it, next to a circle of corn stalks or milo stubble is "yearling heaven" About 100 head of cattle is a good start. Well I've rambled too much!
Later,
John A.

Mornin' John,

This one is all electric from 150 feet or thereabouts; 6" Western Land Roller with 4 stage high pressure bowls running into 750gpm low pressure drop nozzles.

This is the one that we had such a fight over; the well driller just "knew" that I was 'fetched in the head', just didn't know what I was talking about and, as it turned out, he still put the wrong motor on it (50 hp).

Anyway, without going into any of the gory details, this is the place that I went broke on and we've been fortunate enough to have had a very good farmer/renter on it for the past 18 years or so.

The wife and I are puttin' another one up this next summer if we can ever get this new place we are buying nudged off of dead center; but, that's another completely different chapter. :>)

I thought you still lived in Texas?? Where are you now?

Allan

Allan, I like both of the settings. The level fertile farm ground nutured with the center pivots as well as the ground with "character" that I like to call cow country.

Hi Leo,

In the spring time with the summer coming on, I tend to like the 'cow country' and the smell of pine too.

Butchaya gotta understand, this is November 18, etc., etc., etc. (Read: Snow) {smile}

Hope you don't sleep walk! :>) Looks kinda like where I was last weekend up by Rapid City, not like Nebraska!

Nice view, nothing to block it either!
