if youll recall Im restoring a well neglected C for a FFA project. this is a post- graduation project mind you.

The C was a distillate tractor from the factory.

the Manifold is junk, but it is a gas manifold.
Should I put a distillate manifold on it?

The shutters are gone, but I know where I can get an entire assembly, controls and all. should I get them, for originalities sake?

The Distillate tank is gone, and I know it is going to be hard to find, but I know it is doable. Should I get one?

The C-113 has fire crater pistons in it, and they look like brand new, also looks to have new sleeves in it too. Block is cracked but it has been fixed by Previous owner but never ran.

So, should I restore the tractor to original, Im not sure what all I can run in this engine, just gas or distillate?

Also, it already has a distillate Zenith Carb.

Thanks, Tommy in Fl.

Hi Tommy, Haven't seen you around in a while. How have ya been? On the C I would try to keep the cost down and just make it look nice, it will burn gasoline just fine. Aftermarket gas manifolds are easy to come by. Good luck bud and let me know if I can help.

Hey, Im doing fine. How is it on your end?

I was just figuring that since I already have a nice distillate hood, and I know where to get shutters, it might be worth it to do it now.

Seeing as this stuff is going to get harder and harder to find as time goes on.

for the manifold, you can from time to time find the distillate/kerosene manifolds for the A, B, C, etc but they generally are not cheap. If you plan on putting a gas manifold on the tractor, spend the extra money and get one from case IH.. The Case IH manifolds are Exactally like the originals with the exception of the IH emblem being cast into the manifold. The original IH part number is cast into the new manifolds that Case IH sells.
