I have seen spin-on oil filter adaptors for older cars and was wondering if they make them for tractors, more specifically for a 1958 IH 240 utility. I just wanted to get some feedback on those spin-on oil filter adaptor.

Buy the IH spin-on conversion kit part # 538828R91 and the filter # 538836R1 at an IH dealer. These will convert your 240 to spin-on style engine oil filter.

I bought a spin on filter kit for my 706 gasser a couple years back from my caseih dealer. I think it was around $35. Case IH makes the kits for all the older tractors with the element type filters.

Yep, I think you can get them from the CaseIH dealer but they are kind of pricey. Don't know specifically for the 230 Utility, but it's worth asking.I asked about my 1944 "H", but decided I couldn't afford it at the moment.
