Front were avail with two sizes of a single front tire also were avail with fixed two wheel and also an adjustable front two wheel all were tricycle steer. Same set-up was available on B. BN is 8in narrower in the rear than the B.

The difference is 8 inches total rear width, 4 inches on each side.
The differential shaft housing on each side of a B is about 22 inches, on a BN they are each 18 inches for 8 inches total. There are a few other different parts to accomidate this difference such as, drawbar width, seat mountings and pedal guard width, but both were available with single or double front wheels, both share the engine, transmission, differential and final drives with the A.

Here is a link to a pic of a differential shaft housing showing the measurment.

The only difference that I know of is that the left rear axle housing on a B is about 20 in. longer than on a BN..The left rear wheel on a BN is up close to the driver like on a Cub or an A.

If you have a BN that looks like an A with a n/f, someone has modified it. A B is an overall 8 inches wider than a BN. I haven't been into tractors very long, but I have been working on an A, BN, Cub, and an H. I know from running the left wheel of the BN into a fencepost that the left wheel is some 20 inches away from the transmission.

Martin,
You do not have to prove it to me. I have one of the ones that has the fneder next to the axle. It has been modified. would like to find an axle tube and axle so i can make it right.

I didn't mean anything by saying 'just to prove my point' I am just one of those debate kings. (That's the club I teach the high school kids) So, when it's not teaching history, or preserving history, it's teaching debate.

The BN is a narrower version of the B.
