Bought my MD today motor is loose looks like it might of run in the past few years or so...I would like to get it running...What do you need to do to get her going??? I know nothing about these diesel MDs

By the way are you really a kid? And how many tractors restorations have you done? Just curious. A non-running MD could potentially be a big hurdle to tackle.

If it's loose, you may get lucky. Get manuals!! As others said, clean up the gas start stuff and make sure it's all working. Make sure it has fuel in it and get it running on gas. Make sure you have a working fuel pressure gage on the injector pump. Once running on gas, if you have fuel pressure let her run a few minutes and try to switch to diesel. If no fuel pressure, no need to try the switchover. You'll have to find the problem which as others said may be $$$$.

Patience, perserverence, and a manual, in that order.

Start by getting the gasoline system cleaned out and spark plugs firing. Check the oil in the injector pump. It might start right up.
