I have an M with disc brakes, ser # 296474. The 1744th made, out of 3992 tractors. I was just wondering if your tractors have live hydraulics like a SM? I had L\H on mine till I cracked the pump. I want to know if these M's all had L\H or if Mine was an add on, since it had a belly mower on it years ago. Thanks.

farmallkid: There were a few set of Super IH brakes made it to H's and M's. There was also an aftermarket disc brake kit, made by another company. I will not try to explain the difference as I don't remember. One type has 3 bolts holding brake housing while the other has 6 bolts. CNKS knows the difference.

My dad had a 51 H with factory IH disc brakes, I have seen a couple others. I have seen an M with these as well.

It was an add-on. Where did the hoses/lines come out of the pump? If out the top, it's an M&W, I think.

The hoses came out the back of the pump, when your sitting on the tractor. I think its an ih pump, i have seen them on lots of sm, 300,tractors.

Since live hydraulics were not available on early Super Ms I doubt if it was offered on late Ms. Live pump is not in M parts book.
