UNUSUAL IGNITION SITUATION

Just bought a H, checking it over, I noticed that the coil is connected in reverse. Ignition switch to the (-)minus side of the coil and the (+)positive side of the coil to the distributor.
This tractor is a 12v neg. ground. The tractor runs fine and the previous owner stated that he did not have any trouble with it. This seems a little different than what I normally have seen.
What is your take on this situation?

Hi Super,

Like Wayne says, just switch 'em around.

Currently, your plugs are firing backwards, which really doesn't mean a whole lot for just putzin' around and that is why the trator seems to be running fine.

But, like you say, the plug should fire from the electrode out to ground instead of the other way around.

Just switch the wires on the coil so the "-" is connected to the points. Is this a 12 volt coil or is there a resistor in line to protect the points from premature burning?
