Hello-

I forgot how the throttle lever/notched plate are installed on my BN. Could someone provide me with a picture that shows this area? Thanks.

third party image

ffolkes....don't have a very good picture except this one handy. If no one else comes through, I'll take a better one tonight. Sounds like our BN's were on a paralell course. Mine is painted and done except: Drawbar paint and install, grill repair and install (see earlier post), hood (primed, ready to shoot), lighs (stripped ready to shoot), add the decals.

That throttle rod goes to the governor. I took a pic of the governo hook up and have it somewhere...do you need it?

Thanks, that helped a lot. No wonder I couldn't get things to fit...I had the plate on the wrong side of the post!

Thanks again.

I bought a manual for 10 bucks from Joe's Farmall parts. Best 10 bucks I ever spent. But there are certain things I had to just try and remember. By the way, one of the best things in the users manual is a wiring schematic, and a guide for where all the electricl clips for the harness go.

I have my grandfather's (he bought the tractor new in 1947) original manual. The wiring was badly deteriorated, so the wiring schematic is my only hope. ;)

I'll settle for... in reply to ffolkes, 08-31-2004 08:47:38
I just need to know the order of things...the half threaded pin goes through the steering arm support pipe, and is secured by a cotter pin, the other half has what? I remember a badly rusted spring that fell apart... This is where my memory is foggy. I know the lever goes on, then the notched plate then a lock and a nut? But there's got to be something to keep the whole pin from spinning...

Thanks for any help you can provide.

If I remember correctly, the post has a collar or something tht pushes up against the notched plate. The notched plate goes up against the steering post. On the other side of the steering post is a locknut and nut over the threaded part.

To the left of the plate is the lever, and then a spring, and then a washer, and then a cotter pin to hold it on. The idea is that the spring holds it into the notches.

I hope this helps. If not I'll take a picture.

Steve
