Happy 4th, I posted a pic under help identify a long time ago titled "unknown eng" the casting code is 356708-R1 and a small metal dataplate screwed on that say 1220W.

This eng has a dipstick. Has the boss for the hyd pump. And small boss rear the hyd pump on the side of the block.

I pulled the head and freed the stuck pistion. pistion dia 3 inch. I am thinking this is a c-113 or c-123. Please help me figure this out so I can rebild it. I would also be interested in what application it was used for. thanks

Definetly in the C-113-C-123 family. A Case-IH dealer could figure it out if you told them the part number for the block is 356708R1

Looks like a U-2 power unit. Probably came off of a combine or some such. It is basicly a Farmall Super A engine. The power unit blocks were not the same as the tractor blocks so the part number won't match the tractor book. With a 3 inch bore, it was 113 ci. If you plan to replace sleeves, you need to know the size of the lower bore in the block as later engines used a sleeve with a larger lower diameter.

Hi Mike, Does that engine have a 4-inch stroke?
If it does the engine displacement is 113 cubic inches. You could rebuild it using a 123 cid
sleeve and piston kit, unless you want to keep it original. Any IHC dealer can tell you what that IH number is. Hal
