Thanks to the guys who offered hauling suggestions. I finaly got a company out of Pa. to haul from Spur , Texas to wetern , Pa. It turned out that this trucking company is located 6 miles from my home. You don't have to pay a fortune! I got 20 tons of tractors hauled 1450 miles for $100 a ton.

Rustyfarmall---But can you haul that much weight per load? I can now haul the junkers at my leisure on the gooseneck.

Lee, They hauled an 806 Farmall with a cab and 3 sets of wheel weights, a 930 Case with weights and a cab, a 706 with 3 sets of rear weights and 2 narrow front Framall M's with 3 sets of weights on each of those. They had a 53 foot drop deck. The 3 bigger tractors all had fluid in the tires. The driver said that the Cat engine
was noticeable labored on the hills.

No, I can't. I apoligize if I seemed rather flippant in the other reply, didn't mean to.
On the other side , what brand of gooseneck trailer did you get? I am looking for something bigger and heavier duty than what I have, and the more I look the more confused I get. Prices are all over the board.

Rustyfarmall,

The trailer is an "Elite". The trailer is made in Oklahoma, but they are sold in El Paso. Talk to Weslie at 505-640-5656. If you pick it up you will save $250. That is what they charged to deliver it to Spur , Texas. We got a 25 footer and the cost was $3900. It is a really decent rig.

We have a 36' tandem dual gooseneck, 20,000# GVW. I've learned however that most TD goosenecks will carry more than your truck can tow. I might get a smaller trailer one day but so far I like this one--just can't go into the drive-thru windows for meals. I like the large deck--great for carrying three smaller tractors or two medium sized or one elephant tractor. One day (when I get a lot of money...) I'd like to try an aluminum rig for my road trips--same GVW but instead of towing around trailer weight, you can carry more iron onboard.

If you're looking for a gooseneck, don't get sucked into the sales pitch about how heavily built the trailer is--all that means is you can't carry as much iron. Our's weighs 5600#'s empty but I'd heard of other similar sized trailers weighing close to 8000#'s empty.

Just a few comments--didn't mean to ramble on...
